Burst Open Exhibition

Burst Open Exhibition

Burst Open was an exhibition exploring the emerging, global open source design movement and Gallery Artisan in Brisbane. It ran from 4 October – 24 December 2014. The Exhibition featured work from leading local and international designers along with students from the School of Architecture at The University of Queensland.

We collaborated with Architect Andrew D’Occhio to fabricate a CNC routed plywood chair.

Open source refers to free public access to product designs via online platforms. From an initial focus on software, a new movement has spawned – open source design for objects. This often involves collaborative and user-driven development combined with innovative royalty models.

Burst Open was Curated by Christian Duell & John de Manincor. Creative graphic direction and interactive window projection by inkahoots and supported by The University of Queensland – School of Architecture, inkahoots, Carter Holt Harvey, ECOply and Master Engraving.
